The playground at Oxford Park is scheduled for replacement this year, as part of the Parks & Recreation Department’s Capital Improvement Program. In advance of construction–expected to be complete in November 2021–the department is seeking input from residents to help design the new equipment. The funding for this project includes a $10,640 NatureWorks Grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
As with any playground replacement, Parks & Recreation wants community feedback from children and adults as to what new features the playground should offer. Based on a survey sent out to all residents living within a half mile of Oxford Park, the department worked with the playground vendor, Snider Recreation, to develop three design options (3D renderings and videos) based on the community input received from the initial survey.
Now through June 2, they are seeking input in from playground users on these design options. To learn more about this project, view the options and provide your input by completing our quick online survey, visit the Oxford Park Improvements page on our website.
It is anticipated that a final design will be complete by late June with the demolition and replacement of the existing playground scheduled to begin in late July.
