UAHS History Speaks Series: The Sells Brothers Circus
April 25 @ 7:00 pm-8:15 pm

The Upper Arlington Historical Society invites residents to History Speaks Series: The Sells Brothers Circus. Listen to nationally-recognized circus expert and UA resident, Fred Pfening III, as he discusses one of the most important historical traveling railroad circuses, The Sells Bros. Circus.
From the 1870s-early 1900s, this circus wintered just southeast of today’s Upper Arlington in the Grandview area. There are definitive ties to our community: (1) Bill Moose, buried in UA’s Wyandot Park and recognized as the last full-blooded Wyandot in this region, appeared in the show for nine years. (2) Our community’s founders, King & Ben Thompson, are related to the Sells brothers (and also to John Sells, the founder of Dublin., OH). Free to attend, and yet small donations to the Upper Arlington Historical Society at the event are appreciated!
