UA Farmers Market
August 14 @ 4:00 pm-7:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until September 25, 2019
Upper Arlington (April 12, 2018)– The Upper Arlington Farmers Market is set to open its 2019 season on Wednesday, June 5 with new hours, new management and a fresh look!
The Upper Arlington Farmers Market will open a new season on Wednesday, June 5 in a new location: the northwest corner of the Tremont Pool parking lot (2850 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington, 43221), within an easy walk of the Upper Arlington Library, Northam Park, athletic fields and the shops at the Tremont Center. The market will continue to operate on Wednesday evenings, but with a new time, 4-7 PM. The market is open rain or shine and will run weekly through September 25.
The City of Upper Arlington has partnered with Get Fresh Markets, a local non-profit organization led by Michelle White and Jaime Moore. This new partnership will connect the Upper Arlington Farmers Market to other Central Ohio markets and engage it in a recent USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program grant designed to enhance all markets in the region through training and technical assistance, marketing, and research.
The annual “Peak of the Pick” event will be held during National Farmers Market Week on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 to celebrate local food and farmers. This celebration will be in partnership with the City of Upper Arlington, the Ohio Farmers Market Network and fellow markets throughout Columbus.
“We at the city are excited to partner with Michelle and Jaime who have many years of experience in successfully managing and growing farmers’ markets in central Ohio. The new location should provide a more visible and engaging space while still being centrally located and surrounded by activity.” said Matt Leber with the City of Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation.
White and Moore, both experienced market managers and members of the Ohio Farmers Market Network, a statewide organization providing resources and training to market managers and producers, have more than 18 years of combined experience. Together they bring experience in farmers market management, small business management, and expansive connections to farmers and food producers throughout Ohio.
“We’re excited to be partnered with the City of Upper Arlington on this project, and to share our experience with the UA community. We hope to expand the local food offerings to residents and visitors alike with the addition of new producers and products,” said White.
