Upper Arlington Community Foundation Updates

Good news has been coming thick and fast from the Upper Arlington Community Foundation these days, highlighting a variety of impressive initiatives that are making our community better in a variety of exciting ways.

Edwards Green
The Foundation recently announced the gift of green space to the community, thanks to the family of Michael and Phaedra Edwards, in honor of their parents, Peter and Suzie Edwards.

The new public space – known as Edwards Green – is located at Abington and Sherwin roads. The future public park spans .8 acres of land in the Canterbury neighborhood. Features will include floral gardens, inviting walking paths, a stacked stone wall, bench, and a relaxing space to enjoy nature in Upper Arlington.

Edwards Green is scheduled to open for the public in July 2024, so watch for updates as the date approaches.

Heart of UA
The work of the Foundation is showcased and celebrated at its annual event and fundraiser, The Heart of UA. This year’s Heart of UA is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, May 19 at the Scioto Country Club, with funds raised at this event earmarked for community grants from the Foundation.

An integral part of the evening is the presentation of the Heart of UA Award, recognizing the cumulative philanthropic and volunteer efforts of an individual, family or family foundation. The Foundation is pleased to announce that former UA High School Prinicipal, and past Member, Vice President and President of City Council – Kip Greenhill – has been selected as this year’s recipient.

Kip will be joining the impressive ranks of previous winners of this prestigious award: Tim and Glenda Huffman (2019), Mary Ann Krauss (2020), Sue Ralph (2022), and the Ness Family: Lynn and Bob, Emily and John (2023).
