Snow Removal Plan Activated for Winter Storm
Public Service crews are hard at work to ensure roadways are safe and clear throughout Upper Arlington. Crews are diligently following the City’s snow removal plan to address the winter weather.
What to Expect
- Arterial and Collector Roads: Crews are prioritizing these main routes to maintain near-bare pavement conditions for essential travel.
- Residential Streets: Once the main roads are cleared, crews will shift focus to residential streets, aiming to restore normal driving conditions within 8–12 hours after the main roads are treated.
What Are Snow Emergencies?
Snow emergencies are issued by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to ensure public safety during severe winter weather. They provide guidance on roadway conditions and restrictions to help prevent accidents and ensure roads remain accessible for emergency services.
- Level 1 – Roadway Advisory
Roadways are hazardous due to blowing and drifting snow, as well as icy conditions. Drivers should proceed with extreme caution. - Level 2 – Roadway Warning
Roadways remain hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Travel should be limited to essential purposes only. Contact your employer to determine if you need to report to work. - Level 3 – Roadway Emergency
All Township, County, State, and Municipal roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. Travel is strictly prohibited unless absolutely necessary. Employees must contact their employers to confirm work requirements. Those traveling in violation of this order may face arrest.
