Over 90 Pounds of Medications Disposed of During Annual Drug Take Back Day
National Drug Take Back Day was a resounding success in Upper Arlington, with community members turning in a total of 94 pounds of prescription medications. Hosted by the Police Division, the event took place at Fire Station 72 on April 27, offering a convenient drive-thru style drop-off for participants.
The annual event provides a safe and anonymous way for residents to dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs. By doing so, participants helped prevent these medications from falling into the wrong hands or being improperly disposed of. Every year, millions of Americans gain access to prescription drugs, such as pain relievers and stimulants, and use them for non-medical purposes.
National Drug Take Back Day is just one of the many ways Upper Arlington continues to focus on the well-being of its residents and the community. Click here to find a drug disposal drop-off location nearest you in Central Ohio.
