Jazz at the Barn
Each year, UA Parks & Rec is proud to present a series of live musical performances for the community’s enjoyment. Since transitioning to the UA Performance Series a few years ago, they have been mixing up the schedule each year to provide a variety of musical genres at different dates and different community locations, and the 2024 series is no exception.
Next up on the calendar is Jazz at the Barn, scheduled for the evening of Thursday, April 18 at the Amelita Mirolo Barn in Sunny 95 Park. Embark on a captivating journey into the heart and soul of jazz music at this family-friendly event.
The performance schedule is as follows:
- 6 pm: fo/mo/deep – best known for their live performances, the fo/mo/deep groove is rooted in the experimental school of the 1970s, when jazz, soul and funk were one and the same.
- 7 pm: UAHS Jazz Band – they may be students, but the quality of the UAHS Jazz Band performances equal those of many professional ensembles and are more than deserving of our community’s support.
- 7:30 pm: John Henry and the Rainmakers – hailing from Zanesville, Ohio, John Henry is a blues master whose original songs are brought to electrifying life by his fellow Rainmakers.
The following food trucks will be offering food and beverages to purchase: My Chick’N Bites, Red Head Chef, and Ciao Cafe
Please join us for a perfect fusion of live music, food from local food trucks, and a memorable atmosphere that will leave you with lasting memories.
