Street Reconstruction & Sustainable Sewer Solutions Public Meeting
The Engineering Division invites you to a public meeting regarding the proposed reconstruction work scheduled for the following streets this year:
- Brittany Lane: (Marlyn Dr. to Cul-De-Sac)
- Chartwell Road: (Stonehaven Dr. to Haymarket Ct.)
- Hartsook Lane: (Patricia Dr. to Lyon Dr.)
- Kingston Court: (Chartwell Rd. to Cul-De-Sac)
- Lynnhaven Drive: (Somerford Rd. to Millwood Dr.)
- Millwood Drive: (Somerford Rd. to Ardleigh Rd.)
- Sandringham Drive: (Longeaton Dr. to Cul-De-Sac)
- Vassar Place: (Lane Ave. to College Hill Dr.)
Plans will be available for your review at this meeting, and City staff will be on hand to answer questions you may have concerning these projects. Please Note: There will be no formal presentation. The session will be setup as an “open house.”
The street reconstruction project includes:
- Removal and replacement of the existing curb and gutter
- Removal and replacement of the existing asphalt roadway
- Removal and replacement of the driveway aprons
The Engineering Division will also be discussing at this public meeting the proposed sanitary sewer rehabilitation work scheduled for the 2024 calendar year.
The sustainable sewer solutions project includes:
- Installation of a liner into the sanitary sewer mains and the private sanitary sewer laterals in your area by a process called Cured in Place sewer lining. This lining will eliminate the infiltration of water into the sewer and extend the useful life of the sewer main and lateral.
- Installation of a service lateral cleanout in the yard. The contractor uses a vacuum excavator to create a roughly 2′ x 2′ hole to expose the service lateral and install the cleanout. In most installations, there is little evidence that the crew has worked in the yard. The cleanout cap is level with the ground. The cleanout will be installed as close to the house as possible without disturbing any landscaping.
- Rehabilitation of existing manholes to reduce groundwater seepage and repair any existing damage.
