Fishinger Road Traffic Pattern Change
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first phase of the Fishinger Road reconstruction project. As we move into the next phase, an important traffic pattern change will take effect on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, as construction shifts focus to the north side of Fishinger Road, between Mountview Road to Riverside Drive.
Important Updates:
- Traffic Pattern Change: All traffic on Fishinger Road will be switched to the south side on the morning of August 14. This change will allow crews from Strawser Paving to begin essential work on the north side, including the installation of storm sewers, curbs, driveway aprons, street lighting, fiber optic conduit, and an eight-foot shared-use path. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) will be set up on the north side, guiding vehicles safely through the construction zone.
- Continuous Traffic Flow: Even with the traffic shift, we are committed to maintaining two lanes of traffic on Fishinger Road, ensuring that one lane remains open in each direction at all times. This setup is designed to minimize disruptions and keep traffic moving smoothly throughout the construction period.
- Driveway Access: Residents on the north side of Fishinger Road, from 2214 Fishinger Road to Riverside Drive, should be prepared for occasional disruptions to driveway access during this phase. We will notify you in advance through “Focus On” notices if any full driveway closures are necessary.
- Ongoing Services: Please note that weekly trash, recycling, and yard waste collection services will continue without interruption. To ensure timely pickup, place your items at the curb the evening before your scheduled collection day.
This traffic shift is a key step in the ongoing improvements along Fishinger Road. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance Upper Arlington’s infrastructure.
