Get a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Policing in Upper Arlington

Applications Accepted Until August 1 for the 2025 Citizen Police Academy

There’s much more to policing than what you see on the surface—and each fall, the Upper Arlington Police Division invites community members to take a closer look at the people and practices behind local law enforcement through its Citizen Police Academy.

This engaging and informative program offers participants a behind-the-scenes perspective on the work of the Police Division, covering topics such as:

  • Crime scene investigations
  • Traffic stops and defensive tactics
  • Crime prevention and community safety programs
  • Firearms safety and training

The 2025 Citizen Police Academy is scheduled to run Thursday evenings, from 6–9 pm, beginning September 4 through November 13 (with no session on October 31). This free program is open to Upper Arlington residents and business owners or leaders who are 21 years of age or older.

Participants often leave the program with a deeper appreciation for the challenges and responsibilities of law enforcement. Many graduates go on to join the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, continuing to support public safety through community outreach, fundraising, and volunteer efforts.

Applications will be accepted until August 1. To learn more and apply, click here.
