Fire Division Welcomes Seven New Firefighters/Paramedics
The Upper Arlington Fire Division proudly welcomed seven new firefighters/paramedics during a swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, August 6, at the Municipal Services Center. The event marked an important milestone for the division and the community, as these individuals take on the critical role of ensuring public safety and emergency response for the City of Upper Arlington.
The newly sworn-in firefighters/paramedics are:

- Ryan McLain
- Liam Curry
- Dylan Neff
- Gavin Kay
- Tyler Harris
- Ian Shirey
The ceremony, attended by family, friends, and fellow first responders from Upper Arlington and other Ohio jurisdictions, was a moment of pride and celebration. Fire Chief Christopher Zimmer highlighted the rigorous training and commitment required to join the division and emphasized the importance of their roles in maintaining the safety and well-being of Upper Arlington residents.
Each new firefighter/paramedic took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values and responsibilities of the Fire Division. They also received a badge and helmet, symbolizing their readiness to serve and protect.
