The City’s Engineering Division is kicking off a planning and design initiative focused on improving safety, mobility, and overall experience along Zollinger Road, from Riverside Drive to North Star Road. The Zollinger Road Mobility & Safety Improvement Project is an opportunity to thoughtfully invest in a corridor that serves thousands of daily users and sits at the heart of one of the community’s most active areas.
The goal is to reimagine Zollinger Road as a safer, more comfortable, and more accessible corridor. This effort reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to creating high-quality, connected infrastructure that supports long-term livability and public investment.

Next Steps
The Zollinger Road project will unfold in two main phases of community engagement. This first phase centers on identifying existing conditions, needs, and values. A second round of input later in the year will focus on reviewing concepts and shaping design direction. Public feedback will directly inform a vision statement and a set of goals that guide future improvements to the corridor.
Once the project design has been completed, construction is expected to occur as part of the 2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Project History
In July of 2022, the City hosted a public meeting on prospective improvements for Zollinger Road, as it prepared to seek grant funding through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC). Zollinger Road is identified within MORPC’s Central Ohio Greenways Plan as a street that could enhance connections within the Central Ohio trail network, and therefore eligible for grant funding.
