Riverside Drive Shared-Use Path Public Meeting
5-6:30 pm, Tuesday, June 11
Public Service Center, 4100 Roberts Road
The City’s Engineering Division has scheduled an open-house-style public meeting on the evening of Tuesday, June 11 to share preliminary designs for a new shared-use path along Riverside Drive, from Lane Avenue to Trabue Road. Interested residents are encouraged to stop by the Public Service Center at 4100 Roberts Road, anytime between 5-6:30 pm to view the plans, ask questions and provide input on what is being proposed.
Construction of the shared-used path is expected to begin toward the end of 2024, with a 2025 completion date. It will connect a recently added shared-use path along a section of Lane Avenue – between Asbury Road to Riverside Drive – and a path along Trabue Road, ultimately connecting pedestrians and bicyclists from our community to the Quarry Trails Metro Park.
An important component of the design is addressing intersection safety at Lane Avenue and Riverside Drive, as well as the preservation of existing trees and a stonewall. The City’s design consultant, EP Ferris, has been taking these components into consideration as the team has developed its conceptual layout for the shared-use path.
We hope to see you at the meeting. Any questions can be directed to [email protected].
