UA Parks & Rec’s Spring/Summer Activity Guide

The folks at UA Parks & Rec are ready for warm weather, as evidenced by the Spring/Summer edition of their Activity Guide, which recently reached UA mailboxes.

With construction already underway to renovate the tennis courts, replace the park service building and build new pickleball courts at Northam Park, the Northam Tennis season will be abridged for 2024, with fewer courts available for play. As a result, various adjustments have been made to pricing, with a 25% reduction in tennis pass fees, and the department will not be offering a combined pool and tennis pass for 2024. Season passes are already available for purchase online, and will be available for purchase at the Northam Tennis Courts beginning May 5, and at our three pool locations beginning May 25, as these facilities open for the season. Learn more in the Explore section of the Guide, starting on page 5.

Beginning on page 20, the Experience session of the Activity Guide includes a comprehensive calendar of City and community events from March-September, including highlights of this year’s UA Performance Series, the popular annual Farmers Market which begins on Wednesday, May 15, and the Movies in the Parks free summer series.

The Enrich section is packed with programs and activities for all ages and interests.

The Tri-Village area is now home to a branch of the largest service club for adults with disabilities – the Tri-Village Aktion Club – and this group is now meeting twice a month, with members enjoying social time with their peers while self-directing their programs and community service projects. See page 27of the Guide for details on how to get involved in this new opportunity.

Seniors will notice an increase in day trips and lunch outings in the upcoming season, providing a great way to explore the local area, Central Ohio and beyond. Learn more on these opportunities on page 58.

As you explore all that the Guide and UA Parks & Rec has to offer in the months ahead, remember that the PLAY UA Financial Assistance Program is available for any families experiencing a financial challenge. Through PLAY UA, qualifying participants receive 50% off the price of most programs and season passes. And new in 2024, swim lesson fees are reduced by 75% to bring this important life skill within reach for all children in our community. Click here to learn more about this program and how to apply.

Registration for Spring/Summer programs begins at 6 am on Wednesday, March 13 for UA Residents, and at 6 am on Friday, March 15 for Non-Residents. New this year, the registration dates for Safety Town will also begin on the same dates.
