UAPD Detective Receives Prestigious Federal DEA Award

The Upper Arlington Police Division has received national recognition at the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Administrators’ Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C. for exceptional contributions to law enforcement. This prestigious honor was awarded for the division’s role in solving a complex international case, which dismantled a $300 million cryptocurrency drug laundering operation involving multiple countries.

Detective Andy Wuertz, working as part of the Detroit Division of the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency, led the effort on behalf of Upper Arlington, showcasing critical leadership and investigative expertise. His work was instrumental in the success of the global operation, earning him well-deserved recognition at the federal level.

The Federal DEA Administrators’ Award is one of the agency’s highest honors, given to those whose work has significantly impacted public safety and international criminal justice efforts.
