UAPD Officer Graduates from Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy

The City of Upper Arlington is proud to welcome Officer Isaac Brown, who graduated on January 17, 2025, from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy as part of the 151st Basic Peace Officer Training Class. This rigorous 21-week program, which began in August 2024, prepares cadets to serve their communities with excellence and professionalism.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy is recognized as a “STAR-certified” academy by the Ohio Attorney General, a distinction that underscores its commitment to providing top-tier training. The program meets and exceeds the standards set by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and covers more than 150 topics, including criminal law, traffic law, community relations, physical training, self-defense, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, and standardized field sobriety testing.

In the coming weeks, Officer Brown will begin an additional 16 weeks of field training with Upper Arlington Police Division officers, gaining hands-on experience and further honing his skills in real-world scenarios.
