Sunday Work to Begin at Thompson Park for Playground Installation
Construction is scheduled to take place on two upcoming Sundays at Thompson Park as part of the ongoing project to install a new playground. The work will be conducted on May 12 and May 19 between approximately 8 am and 7 pm each day, with the aim of minimizing disruptions to the park and visitors.
Unlike typical construction projects, no heavy equipment will be used during these Sunday work hours. Instead, a mixing drum will be employed to mix the rubber for the playground surface. There may also be minimal use of a skid steer for the movement of materials.
The construction team has taken measures to ensure that disruptions to the park are isolated to the fenced-off work zone and the parking lot staging area, which have been used throughout the project. Visitors to the park are advised to use caution and follow any posted safety instructions.
The installation of the new playground at Thompson Park is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Parks & Rec facilities throughout Upper Arlington. The completion of this project will add to the appeal of Thompson Park as a destination for families and children. The new playground will be installed in time for the 2024 Summer Day Camp.
