10 am-2 pm, Saturday, April 5
Tremont Library
The Tremont Library is hosting a Sustainability Fair on Saturday, April 5 to mark the start of Earth Month. Co-sponsored with Sustainable UA, the event celebrates the various initiatives happening in our community to help us all become better stewards of our natural environment.
Various entities will be exhibiting in the atrium, including Sustainable Upper Arlington, Columbus Garden School, The Fashion Community, Franklin County Pollinator Pathway Project, Franklin Soil & Water, SWACO, Friends of UA Parks, Scioto Watershed Action Group, and Wild Ones Columbus.
The City’s Green will be participating in the Fair with the following activities scheduled in the parking lot:
- Household Goods: Goodwill Columbus will be in the parking lot to accept clothing & shoes, books, furniture, housewares, home decor, and musical instruments.
- E-waste Collection: look for our collection area hosted by Columbus Micro Systems in the parking lot, where you can drop-off old computers, laptops, phones, stereo equipment, small kitchen appliances, cameras and all types of cords. If you miss this opportunity, the division has a year-round drop-off at the Public Service Center, 4100 Roberts Road, which is open M-F, 7 am-4 pm. Click here for more.
- Styrofoam Collection: Old Styrofoam must be clean and free of stickers and tape. This collection by Eco Development will not accept packing peanuts, food containers, plates, cups or egg cartons. The rest of the year, you can drop Styrofoam off at Hilliard’s Operations Department parking lot, at 3770 Municipal Way.
Other parking lot activities include:
- Used Bicycles: Donate your old bikes to local non-profit, Franklinton Cycle Works.
- Clothing & Fashion Accessories: Circular Thrift will be on hand to collect any gently used clothing and fashion accessories in advance of a scheduled clothing swap on April 19.
- Bagged Compost On Sale: GoZERO Services will be selling bags of compost. You may pre-order at //gozero.org/marketplace.
