Exciting changes are coming to Thompson Park! To make way for a new and improved playground, the existing equipment will be removed, with demolition expected to begin in early April.

We know this may be sad news for some, but we’re thrilled about the new playground that will soon take its place. Over 200 residents provided feedback on design options and features. Midstates Recreation then worked closely with our Parks & Rec Department to design an outdoor play space that would incorporate many of these features – like rope bridges, climbing play areas, and spinners.

Visitors to Thompson Park will notice crews working on this improvement project for several weeks, first beginning with demolition and then followed by site preparation and construction. We anticipate the new playground will be installed in time for the 2024 Summer Day Camp.
