Tornado Siren Relocated to Miller Park

A new tornado siren has been installed at Miller Park, helping to strengthen emergency notification coverage in the area. Recently relocated from Jones Middle School, the siren is now installed behind the Upper Arlington Public Library’s Miller Park Branch to better serve the surrounding neighborhoods.

Managed by the Franklin County Emergency Management & Homeland Security, the siren will now be included in the countywide weekly tornado siren test, scheduled for noon on Wednesday, April 16. These regular tests ensure the system is functioning properly and help residents in Upper Arlington stay prepared in the event of severe weather.

Tornado sirens are activated by Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security when the National Weather Service issues a Tornado Warning or when a funnel cloud or tornado is spotted by trained weather spotters. For more information on emergency alerts and preparedness, click here.
