Part-time and Seasonal Employment Opportunities with UA Parks & Rec

Employment opportunities with the City’s Parks & Recreation Department are reaching new heights, with the opening of the Bob Crane Community Center next Spring AND an annual roster of seasonal positions needed to operate the City’s summer camps, outdoor pools, and more. Read on for a summary of the many part-time and seasonal positions that are available, as well as info on how to apply.

Seasonal Employment Opportunities
Each summer, the City’s workforce expands by more than 300 temporary employees who support numerous warm weather programs and activities. Positions are suitable for high school students seeking their first taste of work experience and college students who are home for the summer, as well as adults and retirees with some extra time on their hands who are looking for ways to serve and earn some extra income.

Each year, the available positions include:

  • Outdoor pool management, lifeguards and office workers
  • Summer day camp leaders
  • Recreation facility attendants
  • Northam Tennis facility operations/management
  • Parks service workers
  • Safety Town staff

Some of the benefits of seasonal work with the City include:

Part-time Employment Opportunities at the Bob Crane Community Center
When it opens in the Spring of 2025, the Bob Crane Community Center will require approximately 120 part-time employees to help it be successful. Available positions include:

  • Various attendant positions, including building, child watch, e-sports, fitness, front desk and rec. facilities
  • Lifeguards
  • Various shift leads including child watch and front desk
  • Various manager positions
  • Facilities coordinators

Some of the benefits of part-time work at the Community Center include:

  • Competitive wages: various attendant positions start at $12 per hour; various shift lead positions start at $13.50 per hour; management positions start at $17.50 per hour
